Ann Michelle Is “The Virgin Witch!”
As we countdown the #31daysofhalloween, I’m trying to feature some less known stars of great cult horror films, and Ann Michelle is that indeed!
That’s her on the right, and her sister Vicki on the left!
For Shocktober Day #25, we are going to spend some time with “The Virgin Witch” – with and without clothes!
1971’s “The Virgin Witch” has everything you want from a horror film: haunted houses, virgin sacrifice, blood, a a healthy dose of nudity!
One more unique aspect of this film: Ann stars opposite her sister, ‘Allo ‘Allo! actress Vicki Michelle…
Here is the trailer for “The Virgin Witch”:
Here’s the plot:
Christine gets her big chance at modeling when she applies at Sybil Waite’s agency. Together with Christine’s sister Betty they go to a house in the country for the weekend for a photo shoot.
Of course, there is much more going on that a photo shoot: she is recruiting a virgin for induction into a witch’s coven!
So there you have the reason she’s a “Virgin Witch”, but if you are worried about lack of nudity and sexual situations, don’t be:
Creepy locations, nudity for the sake of nudity, and the constant treat of virgin sacrifice keeps the film movie along nicely…
While erotic horror films were numerous in the early 70’s they gradually faded away.
Michelle herself is reported to have later disowned “The Virgin Witch”, according to an article in 1973, where she complained that the producer had just wanted nude scenes.
We, he got them!
Michelle went on to star in the cult British horror film “Psychomania” in 1973, and also starred in “House of Whipcord” and “Mistress Pamela” in 1974.
After a few more films, she stopped acting.
Michelle made a huge impact in her short horror career – and worked with her sister as well….just like these twins did:
Yes, Mary and Madeleine Collinson didn’t make many films, but the one that made them stars lives on today!
