Meet Blood – A Very Smart Dog!
Sometimes a film is discovered long after it’s released – and cinephiles realize they have missed out on a great gem – like the story of “Blood” and his “Master!”
Yes, Blood’s Master is a very young Don Johnson – but the dialogue quickly proves that we know who is REALLY running the show:
Blood: You know, Albert, sometimes you can be such a putz…
Albert: A putz? What’s a putz? It’s somethin’ bad, isn’t it? You better take that back or I’m gonna kick your fuzzy butt!
Blood: [sighs] Yep, definitely a putz.
Great dialogue made better by the fact that Blood is a talking dog!
“A Boy And His Dog!”
This is a terrific film, released in 1975: the story of two friends who wander a post-apocalyptic world where every day is a fight to survive…
They wander until some VERY strange things happen – this is one crazy, offbeat and twisted mind meld of a movie – written by one of the greatest sci-fi Writers of all time!
“An ‘R’ Rated, Rather Kinky Tale Of Survival!”
That’s the tag line for “A Boy And His Dog”. If you haven’t heard of this mind-bending sci-fi cult classic, now is the time!
This obscure cult classic is now available on DVD, so check out the trailer!
This great sci-fi movie was written by one of science fiction’s greatest writers – “A Boy And His Dog” was based on a novella by famed sci-fi writer Harlan Ellison.
Johnson’s “Girlfriend” Problem!
Things take a surreal turn with the duo stumble into an underground society where the daughter of one of the leaders of the community seduces and lures him below the surface. You see, these survivors have become unable to reproduce because of being underground so long.
So they need Don to solve their problem!
The screenplay was started by Harlan Ellison, who wrote the novella on which it is based. Ellison encountered writer’s block, and so producer Alvy Moore and legendary cult Actor L.Q. Jones took over and wrote the script – and Ellison loved it!
Legendary character Actor Jason Robards plays the deranged leader of the underground cult…to say more would give away the many’s strange pleasures of this cult sci-fi movie!
Don Johnson wasn’t the only Actor dealing with some post-apocalyptic issues in the early 70’s:
