Time To Get “Manhandled!”
Sometimes a film’s poster is more than you could hope for, and this one showcases women who are the original “superheroes” of cult cinema!
“The Manhandlers” are Cara Burgess, Judith Brown and Rosalind Miles.
Check out this scene from the film:
Here’s the plot:
A gorgeous young woman named Katie inherits her deceased uncle’s business and decides that she too can be a businesswoman – so of course she hires her two hot girlfriends, and the “manhandling” begins!
Katie doesn’t like the brothel part so she gets rid of that and is soon giving legit massages. The mob doesn’t like this and Katie is quickly being muscled by mob goons to turn up the heat or pay!
So, it’s time for these empowered women to fight back!
Cara Burgess stars as Katie, the unlikely brothel owner….and of course she is one of the “Manhandlers” in the movie’s title:
Rosalind Miles and Judith Brown co-star as well: Miles was in a number of great blaxploitation pictures of the 70’s, and Judith may be best known for this fully nude scene in the blaxploitation classic “Slaughter’s Big Rip-Off”:
She also appeared in the classic “women in prison” film called “Women In Cages”:
“The Manhandlers” is an effective drive-in picture from the mid-70’s…of ten shown as part of a cult cinema double bill…
This double bill would have been perfect for your local drive-in, where they LOVED to play exploitation films like “Swinging Barmaids”:
It was a great time to load up your car with friends, food and beer and head to the drive-in for films like these – or even “women in prison” pics like this one:
“Chicks In Chains” Indeed!
This one’s a classic: Margaret Markov and Pam Grier are chained together, but that won’t stop them from kicking ass – and taking showers!
