“Susanne Benton Is Headed For A Bust Up!”
Well, let’s hope so!
In this latest edition of my “2020 Sex Kitten Countdown”, I want to focus on an Actress who appeared in films big and small, and posed with literally nothing at all!
Susanne Benton is a Canadian actress known for her film roles across many genres during the 70’s – let’s take a look at some of her more provocative roles!
Susanne’s Playboy Unveiling…
Benton caught everyone’s attention when she was featured in Playboy – a great way to be discovered in those days!
These pictorials led to a string of cult films that would give her a chance to show off her acting skills along with her physical charms…
“Cover Me Babe!”
While it has a provocative title, this is actually an interesting concept for a film – especially at that time.
Robert Forster starred as a student filmmaker who let nothing stand in the way of his getting a studio contract. Sondra Locke also starred:
I haven’t seen this film, but when I saw this still from the film, I knew it was something I’d have to try and find!
Also in 1970, Benton had a small role in the brilliant anti-war film “Catch-22”, playing a buxom Secretary:
This pouty finger action drove the soldiers crazy and I can understand why: the camera loved her.
Many more pictorials followed as well, and she continued to pop up in films that were cult gems:
This 1975 exploitation film had three friends heading cross-country on the “trip of a lifetime” which turns, of course, into a nightmare!
In 1975, Benton appeared in the classic sci-fi film “A Boy And His Dog” – a terrific film about an alternative world underground, and it was her job to seduce a young Don Johnson, who has been lured down below…
This is a great cult film that you should see – here is the trailer and more:
Susanne continued to appear in film and TV, but these were her cult gems. She continued to act, but it was her work in the 70’s that we are celebrating today.
Benton wasn’t the only Cult Actress who was just as popular as a pin-up Model. Many of the most popular Cult Movie Queens of the 60’s and 70’s were also in Playboy:
Susan Bernard was in the 60’s cult gem ‘Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” But she was also the first Jewish Playmate…check out her career and that pictorial by clicking on my story here:
