Celebrating The career Of Michele Drake!
I have to thank one of my Facebook friends who saw one of my stories and suggested I look into the career of Michele Drake – and I’m glad I did!
Michele Drake was born in 1958 in La Jolla, California.
As with many of the women who appear in my “2020 Sex Kitten Countdown”, Michele burst onto the scene thanks to being chosen as a Playmate Of The Month!
Michele was Playmate of the Month in the May 1979 issue of the magazine.
As you can see, the camera loved her and it’s natural that this exposure would catch the attention of savvy Movie Producers.
Michele’s Revealing “Hollywood Knights!”
The following year, Drake made her movie debut in 1980 with a small role in “American Gigolo,” but it was her role as an “unfortunately” dressed Cheerleader in “The Hollywood Knights” that same year that got everyone’s attention.
The film’s plot was simple: led by their comedic leader, Turk, the Hollywood Knights car club raise hell throughout Beverly Hills on Halloween Night, 1965.
In one of the film’s most memorable scenes, Drake plays the cheerleader who forgets her underwear – which is apparent when she performs her routine for the school!
It’s one of the moments that EVERYONE remembers from the film!
She also had roles in the Mel Brooks comedy “History of the World: Part I,” and “Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie.”
She appeared in a number of TV shows as well, including a guest appearance as a Playmate on an episode of “The Jeffersons.”
Outside of her acting gigs, Michele was also a member of the “Singing Playmates” group that Playboy had for awhile – performing concerts and appearing on TV shows like Johnny Carson’s 1982 New Year’s Eve show!
Michele was a gifted performer, appearing live with Bob Hope, and filming TV specials with Jane Fonda, Mike Douglas, and George Burns as well!
Michele’s entertainment career continued to the other side of the camera as well, where she has been involved in producing films around the world as well.
Bravo to Michele for a successful career…she used her appearance in Playboy to help carve out a career both in front of and behind the camera.

I went to High School with her, same year together. Wish she would have pulled the “Knights” wardrobe malfunction when we were in high school !! But I wouldn’t have seen it, I was Varsity everything.

Hollywood Knights is my all time favorite movie! Saw it on the theater when it came out. Thank you for telling me that was Michelle Drake as the cheerleader. Love your work!
