Celebrating The Vintage Playmate Of The Year Donna Michelle!
As part of my “2021 Sex Kitten Countdown”, I’ve been looking at some of the legendary Pin-Up Models of the 60’s…ultimately, most didn’t have long careers in entertainment, but they became famous for appearing in Playboy!
Donna Michelle was born on December 8, 1945 in Los Angeles, California. I haven’t uncovered much biographical information about her, but when you see pictures like these, you assume that Hollywood came calling – and Playboy provided an opportunity for exposure!
This was an era when young women were plucked from obscurity because of the explosion in men’s magazines…caused by a freedom that was unique to that time…
Donna Michelle made a big splash when she was picked as Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for December 1963 – at the time, these honors led to much more exposure…
Michelle appeared in a number of TV shows at the time, like the highly popular hit “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” in 1964…which was also the year she scored another big honor:
Donna was chose as the Playboy Playmate of the Year for 1964 – quite an honor indeed!
Michelle parlayed her pin-up success into a roles on various TV shows, and in goofy “beach blanket” films like this one from 1965:
“Beach Blanket Bingo!”
This was the fourth of the highly successful Frankie and Annette beach party movies, and as you can imagine, a shapely Playmate like Donna would do just fine in a supporting role.
Donna also appeared in the 1966 film “Agent for H.A.R.M.” – but perhaps more importantly, the film starred Barbara Bouchet…
This Cult Movie Queen graced the cover of Playboy as well…and what a wild career she had!

Finally, Donna got a chance for a starring role – in a provocative foreign film, that utilized her physical charms in the movie:
“The Night of the Three Lovers”
In this provocative 1968 film, Donna starred as Jenny, who is held hostage at home with a friend by an armed Intruder. Since the two girls have no cash, he decides to wait until Monday morning for them to be able to withdraw money.
Well, this European erotic thriller gave Donna a chance to show off her assets…
That was about it for Donna’s career…she left the entertainment industry right at a time when grind house films, drive-in double bills and more explicit films were becoming the norm…her Playboy pictorials were hugely popular, but no word on what she did next, except that sadly, she died in 2004…
I’ve posted many stories about popular Pin-Up Models who simply dropped out of sight:
Candy Loving was a Playboy Playmate as well, but she chose not to go into the cult film business – and then dropped out of the business…you can see more of her terrific photos by clicking on my story here:
And what about June Wilkinson?
At one point she was “the most photographed nude in America!”
Click on my story her to see why!
Diora Baird was a favorite pin up as well – in a more modern era:
Diora was a great Actress as well – see all of her best work by clicking on my story here!
