Time To Celebrate “Adult” Actress Samantha Fox!
One of the more enjoyable aspects of my “2021 Sex Kitten Countdown” is to see other film fanatics sharing picture of Cult Movie Queens…which is how I discovered the wild career of Samantha Fox!
Adult Super Star Samantha Fox!
Stasia Therese Angela Micula, was born in 1950 – but gained fame under the screen name Samantha Fox.
Fox started her career in adult film industry in 1975, modeling for adult magazines, and made her adult film debut in 1977 – in a movie where the title says it all:
She next starred in Director Chuck Vincent’s 1978 film “Bad Penny”, and her career was on its way!
She met Bobby Astyr that same year, and Samantha described him as “something of a jerk.” Talk about “meeting cute!”
Fox and Astyr eventually started dating and they were together 24 years, until Astyr died of lung cancer in 2002.
As successful as she was in the adult film world, Fox had a troubled life, and she was candid discussing it.
In March 1981, Fox referred to herself as a “former drug addict” and had been clean for a year and a half.
A few months later, she won her second AFAA Best Actress award for “This Lady is a Tramp.”
In 1981, she also co-starred in “Centerfold Fever” with Kandi Barbour.
I profiled the tragic life of Barbour as well:
Kandi had a successful adult film career, but she died a shocking death…you can see her whole story here:
Fox continued to star in some of the most acclaimed adult film of that era:
In 1980, Fox co-starred with Jack Wrangler in the film “Jack ‘n Jill.” It was their first film together.
As reported online, when she met Wrangler she “tingled all over” and they had “instant magnetism”. They lived together for a week “playing husband and wife” to prepare for the domestic-themed swinging film.
Fox won the Adult Film Association of America (AFAA) Best Actress award for Jack ‘n Jill.
Reviews noted her strong screen presence and her ability to play roles that range from an innocent to an assertive woman.
She co-starred in “Roommates”, playing the role of a call girl who seeks to leave sex work to work in television.
Her performance was called “one of the top erotic performances ever,” by Pornstar Classics.
When Fox started in the adult film industry, money did not matter to her, as she is quoted as saying:
“I didn’t take it seriously, it was pocket money.”
According to wikipedia, Fox shared in 1980 that she learned “a lot about my own sexuality by playing in adult movies. I am a lot freer now than I was before.”
Of course, she got the ultimate honor in the adult world: her own “inside” film!
Yes, these films were routinely produced featuring the biggest adult stars of that era: I’ve featured many of them before:
After leaving the film industry, Fox attended Hunter College for physical therapy and worked as a fitness instructor.
Sadly, Fox died on April 22, 2020 from a cardiovascular illness and possible COVID-19 complications.
Samantha is just one of the “adult” stars I’ve been profiling, because they have also been forgotten to a degree – except for one dynamite website and podcast who is keeping them alive:
“The Rialto Report” is an absolutely terrific website that interviews and profiles adult performers…and their podcast is a great audio history as well…they have a great appreciation of Samantha Fox after her tragic death…click here to see it:
Another terrific Adult Actress had a fascinating career as well – so much so that she also was profiled “Inside”:
Desiree Cousteau tried to make mainstream films but couldn’t get hired, so she went “XXX” – here are some of her biggest hits:
It was rare for adult Actresses to work in mainstream films – but more unusual for a mainstream Actress to go hardcore.
More recently, this popular TV Star went from “ABC” to “XXX”!
Maitland Ward has become one of adult cinema’s biggest stars today, after starting as a teenager on “Boy Meets World.”
Now, she’s a breakout adult film star! You can see her most recent films by clicking on my story here:
