Meet Cult Movie Queen Dalia Sheppard!
One reason I have continued my “2021 Sex Kitten Countdown” is to shine a spotlight on some of our great Cult Movie Queens who may not get all of the recognition they deserve – and based on her terrific performance in Director Fred Olen Ray’s “Haunting Fear”, it’s time to let Dalia Sheppard shine!
Delia Sheppard was born on July 29, 1960 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Sheppard is nobody’s fool: she has completed a degree as Doctor of Holistic Medicine including Shamanism, Chinese Herbology, Homeopathy and all Alternative Health Modalities!
Dalia got her start in entertainment as a Fashion Model in Paris, and was a former Showgirl at Paris’ famous Lido Revue as well!
From there, she headed to Reno in 1993 as a Principal Dancer in the stage show “Hot Streak” at Harrah’s Casino and Resort.
She gained recognition when she was featured in Penthouse magazine and was named the Penthouse Pet of the Month in April 1988
The following year she made her first film:
“Witchcraft II: The Temptress”
She also appeared in “Sexbomb” that same year.
It was, however, this film that brought Dalia to my attention:
In 1990, Director Fred Olen Ray did a modern take on Edgar Allen Poe’s classic story “Premature Burial” and it’s a blast – with an incredible cast!
Cult Movie Queen Brinke Stevens is terrific as a woman who has nightmares of being buried alive, she tries to calm down by taking long baths, but the horrific visions won’t stop!
The late great Jan-Michael Vincent plays a “bag man” for a Mobster, played by the legendary Robert Quarry who is watching her house…good thing too!
You see, her husband, played by Jay Richardson, has devised a plan to get rid of his wife for good – and he’s helped by his Secretary, deliciously played by Delia!
Sheppard’s leading the husband into a wicked plot that goes in some really fun directions before resolving with some great shocks.
Add Karen Black and Michael Berryman in for small cameos and you have a great cult gem that delivers on all counts!
Check out the trailer!
Sheppard chews the scenery with a wicked style, and fo course, it stars one of my favorite “Scream Queens”, Brinke Stevens!
I bought this new special edition blu-ray, and Brinke signed it!
You can buy one yourself here!
It’s a great added bonus to what is already a terrific film!
This shot of Brinke in a tub with Linnea Quigley and Michelle Bauer is just one of many great films in her cult movie career – click here to see all of her best films!
Sheppard also had a role in “Rocky V” in 1990, as well as “The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane”, but the next few year would see Dalia star in some great erotic thrillers:
Dalia had the lead in this 1992 erotic thriller – when her identical twin sister goes out of town, a bored and sexually frustrated woman adopts her sibling’s promiscuous identity. But soon finds herself involved in a murder case.
Here are some of her other films during this time:
“Secret Games”, “Night Rhythms” and “Animal Instinct” all in 1992.
“Sins Of Desire”
She was a fearless performer in a string of “Skinamax” films of that time:
She ended up in Las Vegas as a Showgirl there in the late 90’s and then TV and films roles for the next decade..
Online biographies say she has been working in film and television and in production for Cirque Du Soleil as well!
Dalia also appeared in the films “Now You See Me” in 2013 and “The Big Short” in 2015 – in all Sheppard has 35 acting credits – bravo for a terrifically varied career!
She reminds me of another star of that era:
That’s right: Director Fred Olen Ray also gave us the gorgeous Michelle Bauer in “Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers!” Click here to see all of her greatest roles!
