Happy Happy Birthday To Adult Superstar Ginger Lynn Allen!
One of the most enjoyable parts of my “2022 Sex Kitten Countdown” is to be able to shine a light on some of the most empowered and entertaining women of cult cinema – and that includes the legendary Ginger Lynn Allen!
Ginger Lynn turns 60 today – so let’s look at some of her most popular films – and all of the great new projects she has going today!
Ginger Lynn was born in Rockford, Illinois, on December 14, 1962, growing up in the Midwest.
When she was twenty, she went to visit her sick Grandfather in California and stayed! She managed a Musicland record store in Redlands, and lived in a trailer for almost a year. Her life changed when she answered an ad for figure models.
“Figure Model” Indeed!
The term “Figure Model” was code for nude modeling – and there were agencies who specialized in it. Ginger Lynn quickly became very popular!
She landed a photo layout in Penthouse magazine, and began to work in the adult-film industry soon after. She worked in the industry from December 1983 through February 1986, making a total of 69 films!
Ginger Lynn “Surrenders In Paradise!”
Several reports say that she made her adult film debut in 1984 in the film “Surrender In Paradise!”
However, since she made several dozen films that year, it may just have been the first one she shot, even if others hit the market first…either way, she was a hit!
Ginger Lynn was named “Best New Starlet” of 1985!

She was also an in demand Model as well, appearing in numerous men’s magazines at the time.
“New Wave Hookers” in 1985 ultimately led to the worst time in her life…all due to her co-star!
Her Traci Lords Connection!
In 1986, after filming “New Wave Hookers” with Traci, the FBI contacted Ginger Lynn about Lords.
It turns out that Traci was underage during her years in the adult-film industry, and the FBI was going after the Movie Producers who cast her. Ginger Lynn refused to speak on Traci’s behalf and thinks that decision caused her to be targeted by the government – in fact, Ginger Lynn was eventually arrested for tax evasion!
The Traci Lords scandal rocked the adult film industry and a brilliant new podcast digs into the whole story – including an interview with Ginger Lynn herself – and she doesn’t hold back!

As for Ginger Lynn, she believes that her refusal to testify against the Adult Film Producers in the case led to her tax evasion charges. In 1991, Lynn served four and a half months in prison for tax evasion.
However, she was also branching out into mainstream entertainment.
She appeared in Metallica’s music video “Turn The Page.”
Ginger Loved “Vice!”
And “Vice” loved her as well!
Ginger Lynn made the leap into mainstream films as well in the 80’s, with a small role in the western “Young Guns” and then with these wacky comedies, which cemented her as a mainstream movie star as well…check out the trailer:

As for Ginger, her career continued to flourish: she appeared in more of the “Vice Academy” films, as well as the independent film “Bound And Gagged: A Love Story!”
The actress returned to the adult film world briefly in the late 90’s before retiring from that industry for good.
According to reports, Ginger Lynn was diagnosed with cervical cancer in the summer of 2000. She underwent a total hysterectomy and chemotherapy treatment and beat the disease.
Ginger Lynn Allen continues to work in film and TV, like the just-completed “Murdercise”, which also stars Jessa Flux!
