Celebrating The Terrific Cult Film Career Of Roxanne Kernohan!
My “2021 Sex Kitten Countdown” continues with the story of a great Cult Movie Queen of the 80’s, who sadly died far too young.
Let’s look at the life of Roxanne Kernohan!
Roxanne was born in Canada in 1960.
Kernohan burst onto the cult movie scene in the late 80s, and in the next few years racked up some great credits.
She played a feisty warrior woman in the 1988 post-apocalyptic sci-fi flick “Phoenix the Warrior.”
Kathleen Kinmont was also in this film, and I profiled her great career as well…you can see all of the highlights here:
Roxanne played a hooker in “Angel III: The Final Chapter”, but her breakout role was that same year, in 1988:
“Not of This Earth”
This remake got a ton of press when released because of who starred in it, but it’s a terrific sci-fi film with a great part for Roxanne!
An alien arrives on Earth looking to take human blood in an attempt to preserve his dying planet. The film starred Traci Lords, but Kernohan had the best scenes!
Check out the trailer:
This remake was notorious as the starring vehicle for Lords, who stunned the adult film world when it was revealed that she had worked in XXX-rated films as an underaged teen.
A fantastic podcast tells the entire story from all angles – and you can see more of her notorious story here:
Kernohan’s most memorable screen role was a delectable “Playboy” centerfold who comes gorgeously to life (complete with staple in her stomach!) in “Critters 2: The Main Course.”
Check out this delicious trailer:
Roxanne is literally having a blast!
One of her best roles came when she played herself, alongside a packed hot tub full of 80’s Scream Queens!
I have covered this video gem many times already, since I have profiled all of these terrific Cult Movie Queens!
You can enter any of their names to see all of their best work, from Brinke Stevens to Michelle Bauer and Kelly Maroney too – here’s a head start with the wild career of Monique Gabrielle:
Roxanne’s Tragic Death!
Roxanne did a lingerie video for Playboy, and was clearly on a fast track with her acting career – when a shocking tragedy occurred.
Roxanne died at the age of 32 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on February 5th, 1993.
I can’t find any additional information on what happened, but what a shocking end to such a promising career…
Cheryl ‘Rainbeaux’ Smith was another Cult Movie Queen who also died far too soon – you can see more of her career, including her work in an X-rated “Cinderella”, by clicking on my story here:
