Celebrating The Career Of Joanna Kulig!
In my ongoing “2021 Sex Kitten Countdown”, I have focused on a lot of the great Cult Movie Queens of the past – but here’s a modern addition to the list: a Polish-born Actress who is carving out a provocative career!
Born in Poland in 1982, Joana was destined to be a star. At the age of 16, Kulig won a prize on the popular Polish singing competition show, Szansa Na Sukces.
Joanna graduated from the Ludwik Solski State Drama School in Krakow, specialization in popular music vocals; and was an Actress at the Teatr Stary in Krakow.
She booked her first film when she was 24 years old and hasn’t stopped since.
In 2011 she starred in “The Woman in the Fifth” with Ethan Hawke and Kristin Scott Thomas.
She also starred with Juliette Binoche in “Elles” that same year, and what a provocative role!
Among her many award-winning roles, she appeared in the Academy Award winning film “Ida” in 2013.
Kulig has never shied away from provocative roles, and has become a huge European star.
Joanna has already won several major European Film Awards, including Best Actress in 2018 for “Zimna Wojna.”
Kulig can currently be seen starring opposite Tomasz Kot in Pawel Pawlikowski’s sweeping drama for Amazon, “Cold War.”
She won Best Actress in 2018 at the European Film Awards for her performance!
Joanna already has more than 40 screen credits, but without a doubt her performance in “Elles” is the wildest:
I look forward to following her career going forward, as she always chooses provocative parts.
She reminds me of another great actress who never shied away from provocative roles:
Mimi Rogers gave an incredible performance in “The Rapture” and much more as well!

Adrienne Barbeau also had a great career, mixing mainstream films with cult gems as well..see them all here:

‘Ida’ is a great film, and ‘Cold War’ is very good too. I haven’t seen the other films yet, but she is an excellent actress, as well as being good to look at.
Best wishes, Pete.
