Celebrating The Career Of Playmate / Actress Nancy Cameron!
Some of the most beautiful women to grace Playboy magazine went onto huge careers, while others faded from view.
My “2021 Sex Kitten Countdown” has the story of a Playmate who graced one of the magazine’s most unique covers – and was the first “double sided” Playmate as well!!
Nancy Cameron was born March 15, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As you would expect, her looks attracted the attention of Playboy magazine.
She was Playboy’ “Playmate Of The Month” in January 1974 – it was Playboy’s 20th anniversary issue.
Playboy’s First “Double-Sided Playmate!
Cameron appeared in Playboy’s first ever “double-sided” centerfold, with both her nude front and back visible.
It was just one of the many classic photos of her – in fact, she was the cover of one of the magazine’s most artistic efforts.
On this classic cover, she appears in front of the 1886 painting by Georges Seurat, “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte”, posed similarly to the main character in that composition.
These stunning photos capture a timeless grace and beauty – she certainly knew how to take a good picture…
Nancy had a few TV credits, most notably for “Charlie’s Angels” in 1976 and “Fantasy Island” around that same time.
While she became famous for these photos, Nancy didn’t take full advantage of the opportunity. Her only film was a small role in a cult comedy called “The Devil And Sam Silverstein” in 1976.
A few small TV roles followed and then she disappeared from the business.
According to her online biography, she was teaching college composition at the University of Pittsburgh a decade ago…bravo to her for a groundbreaking photo shoot…her decision not to pursue acting reminds me of another iconic Playmate:
Candy Loving was Playboy’s 25th Anniversary Playmate – stunning in every way – but she never capitalized on the honor…click here to see her whole story and many more of her photos:
Another great Actress / Playboy Model was Roberta Vasquez – she carved out a great career after her Playboy appearance:
Vasquez also had a great cult movie career, and you can see it by clicking on my story here:

I never used to read Playboy. It was expensive here, and I found it a bit ‘classy’ for my taste as a teenager. Nice to be able to catch up on what I missed now though. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, these profiles are surprisingly popular and some of the stories are fascinating in a pop culture way….a “double sided” Playmate – who knew?
