Maitland Ward Covers XBIZ’s New August Issue!
Fans of adult cinema know about the “golden age of porn”, when stars like Seka, Marilyn Chambers and Desiree Cousteau heated up the silver screen.
Of course, in today’s world there is still hardware like Blu-rays, but most of the action comes via streaming services – but there is still room for an adult Superstar to shine:
That describes Maitland Ward, the former “Boy Meets World” sitcom star who moved into adult films a few years ago and took the world by storm!
She got a ton of press coverage when her new career path was announced, and since then she has racked up tons of awards for her work…and now this!
Maitland Ward takes center stage this month as the cover star for XBIZ’s August issue – the first-ever performer to grace the entire cover of this adult film magazine in its 23-year history.
Posing provocatively in a strappy black micro-mini and holding a sledgehammer as a spotlight shines on her from above, the stunning redhead breaks ground in a smashing 10-page pictorial and Q&A interview with editor Alejandro Freixes, revealing a candid and down-to-earth spirit who has come a long way since her days as a bubbly, straight-laced film & TV actress.
Maitland grew up in Southern California – and was a “good girl” as she says….but that changed.
“A lot of people are very sexual right away in life, yet I’m like a lobster, and the pot started boiling over the years… and soon I was fully boiled!”
She went on to tell the magazine:
“I wasn’t so in touch with my sexuality as a teenager, or even my early twenties. It took me a while to get to this place where I am.”
Maitland got her acting start on Bold and the Beautiful, and then moved on to Boy Meets World and the film White Chicks, among many other projects.
Today however, she explores her sexual self-expression through writing erotica, fantasy cosplay and adult film work.
“I loved acting and thought, ‘Why can’t I act? Why can’t I really act in something and have sex in it? And that’s what I really wanted to do.”
Now an exclusive contract performer for Vixen Media Group, Ward is juggling leading onscreen roles in the adult world with mainstream entertainment projects: she recently signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster to release her memoir and is set to star in a new TV series, The Big Time.
Ward muses that whether her future lies in adult, mainstream or somewhere else altogether, she is fulfilled with what she has already accomplished:
“There’s just so much ahead that I’m excited about… people should be really proud of the adult businesses that they’ve made, and I think that the time is really coming where you can be both loud and proud about it in mainstream. “It’s an awesome industry, adult entertainment, that I’m just so excited to be a part of. I have absolutely loved my time and all the respect it’s given me. I will never, ever forget that.”

Ward’s foray into the adult film world has really paid off: in 2020, Maitland won three AVN Awards for Best Supporting Actress and Best Three-Way Sex Scene-G/G/B for her work in Deeper mega-hit feature Drive, as well as Favorite Camming Cosplayer. In 2021 she won AVN’s Best Actress for Deeper’s Muse and Best Boy/Girl Sex Scene for Higher Power.
