Celebrating Cult Movie Queen Tina Krause!
First, thanks to my fellow Facebook cult movie fan Joe for the suggestion that I look at Tina’s career!
It’s mind-blowing that I didn’t know Tina’s work – considering she has more than 120 screen credits!
Tina Krause was born on July 29, 1970 in Queens, New York. Krause graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a degree in Graphic Design and 3D illustration.
Tina worked as an Artist and Graphic Designer before she was discovered by Producer / director Gary Whitson at a Chiller Theatre horror convention in New Jersey in 1994.
She made her acting debut that same year:
According to IMDB:
“This was the very first screen appearance of scream queen/B-movie legend, Tina Krause. Krause’s opening scene was filmed almost immediately after she was discovered by a producer for W.A.V.E. Productions at the Chiller horror convention in New Jersey. It was shot right outside of the hotel where the convention was being held. Krause was attending the convention with her younger sister, simply to buy her a Jason Voorhees hockey mask.”
“Fatal Delusion” was followed by many other films, some with very clever titles like this!
“Female Mercenaries On Zombie Island”
I mean, how can you argue with that?
Her films were filled with nudity and gore, and she worked with some of the other cult movie queens of that time as well:
“Blood Oath”
Cult Movie Queen Tiffany Shepis also starred in this – A group of friends on a weekend camping trip decide to investigate a local urban legend. The trip will change their lives as they are forced into a fight for survival against a horrific monster..
Tiffany also has a great cult film career – I was lucky enough to work with her on some TV segments and she’s terrific – see all of her best work here:
For Tina, she has had a great run of cult films like these:
“Titanic 2000”
Yes, they promoted this film this way:
“A Vampire’s Lust Is Unsinkable!”
The films had a formula: lots of nudity and sexual situations, as well as blood and horror as well:
Many of these films were with Seduction Cinema, a cult movie company that specializes in low budget, erotic films – and Krause starred in dozens of them!
Some of these were fairly rough, but I assume that these companies know where their market is, and Tina clearly was a big draw for them:
Tina directed her first movie in 2001. She also continued to work in other aspects of the film business as well – but always stayed in front of the camera as well.
Here’s another of her better known films from 2007:
“The Thirsting” is a derivation of the Lilith myths taken from biblical texts. It’s the story of a nun who fled to the church seeking comfort from memories of ritualistic abuse as a child – but in a sinister twist, she is forced to host the spirit of Lilith – Adam’s first wife and the mother of all demons!
Here is the trailer:
In their review of the film, Sci-Fi Universe wrote:
“Most actresses are unknown. Only Tina Krause has earned a solid reputation, particularly through her performances in films produced by rogues fantastic Seduction Cinema”.
And yes, it also starred Mickey Rooney!
As you can see, she carved out quite a career in low budget, erotic horror films – and bravo to her for that!
Bravo to Krause for a great career – she embodies the spirit of independent cinema at a time when we need to support it!
Her career reminds me of the some of the great “Scream Queens” of the 80’s and 90’s:
Michelle Bauer was one of the greatest – and you can see all of her best films here:
Bauer worked with Brinke Stevens, another of the great Cult Movie Queens of that era:
I’m a big fan of her work, and you can see some of the best films by clicking on my story here:
Delia Sheppard is stunning, and you can see all of her best work here:

I haven’t seen the films, nor heard of Tina. But your tribute is as excellent as always, John.

Tina Is hilarious in Witchouse 3: Demon Fire just saw that one last week on Tubi. Some of the other works i have not seen for ten years so will need to dig them out and re-watch them to see if this comedy streak was in some of the other ones. just got female mercenaries on zombie island and crimson nights delivered for this weekend. I like the ones of this area with good comedy in them. Brett Piper’s Bite Me, Screaming Dead and Shock or Rama, are my fav’s, good comedy horror, her cohorts Julian Wells and Erin Mundae Brown, all have great timing for comedy too. Very underrated for comedy skills most of them, same as you mentioned with the three 80’s queens, all did as well lots of hilarious stuff. Bite me and Mummy Raider, though Misty not Tina are too of the funniest things i have seen IMO!!!. Julian Wells too is hilarious in Sexy American Idle, Writing directing, and if memory (10 years since seen it) serves playing several characters. here is a go to list, if this is all new to you? or new ish.

Thanks for this post of Tina Krause. I’ve been a long-time fan of hers, but I’ve never had the opportunity to meet her. She recently finished a movie with another Scream Queen, Deborah Dutch. (Hollywood Warrioress) I’ve not met her either, but have a few friends who do know her well. Everyone says she’s very sweet. I did see her on a talk show years ago when the host asked her to scream & she let out a blood-curdling scream. I’d like to see a post on her career, with photos of course. There may be readers who do not know of her.
If you’ve already covered (or uncovered) her, I apologize.
