Celebrating Welsh Model Sian Adey-Jones! From “Page 3” To “007”!

It Began With This Photo…

First, thanks to my friend James – he shared this photo on his Facebook page “Beneath The Valley…” which celebrates empowered women in entertainment across all genres and decades.

He suggested that I find out more about 70’s Welsh Model Sian Adey-Jones.

I’m glad I did and here’s why!

Celebrating This Welsh Super Model!

I was excited first of all to celebrate someone from Wales. I’ve never been but know how unique and proud this area is!

My “2021 Sex Kitten Countdown” has been my way to honor some of the great Cult Movie Queens of the past and present – but also some other empowered women who have left a mark in the world of entertainment.

Let’s look at some of Sian’s best work – including her appearance in a 007 film!

Sian Adey-Jones was born in December 1957 in Bodfari, County Clwyd, Wales.

Sian was named “Miss Wales” in 1975, and went on to compete in the “Miss Universe” contest in 1976.

She was one of The Sun newspaper’s “Page 3” girls, and was able to get lots of headlines in the press herself:

Her striking beauty and personality made her a favorite around the world:

Sian was a very popular model, and for good reason:

Along with a hugely successful modeling career, Sian can also lay claim to being a “Bond Girl”, thanks to her appearance in this 007 film:

“A View To A Kill!”

It was Roger Moore’s swan song as 007 – widely considered one of the “lesser” James Bond films, but it had a great theme song!

Outside of her one outing as a peripheral “Bond girl”, Sian didn’t pursue acting.

Instead, she ended up doing pictorials for a wide range of magazines:

Bravo to Sian for a terrific modeling career – stunning!

She reminded me of a number of the British Pin-Up Models I’ve profiled here:

Samantha Fox was hugely successful – and just happened to share the same name with a 70’s XXX-rated Movie Star!

See that story by clicking here:

Sian wasn’t the only “Bond girl” who was a hugely successful Model:

Corrine Russell had a unique role in a Roger Moore Bond film – see why by clicking here:

England’s history of Pin-Up Models is a rich one, thanks to star like Holly Peers:

Holly had a fascinating career and you can see why by clicking on my story here:

And let’s not forget Sophie:

Sophie Howard was a huge British Pin-Up Model, but a very savvy businesswoman as well – click here to see why:

And as for British Pin-Up Models, here is perhaps the most famous currently:

Lucy Pinder has built quite a career as a Pin-Up Model and so much more, you can see all of her career highlights by clicking on my story here:

Finally, for you Bond fans, here’s a debate I’ve started:

What are the “best” and “worst” Bond themes? You see, “A View To A Kill” was a bad Bond but the title track was terrific!

  1. I remember Sian, though mainly for her Page 3 ‘career’, and the tabloid headlines that generated. I had completely forgotten about her before your tribute though.
    Best wishes, Pete.
