Celebrating The Career Of Cult Movie Queen Melissa Moore!
My Facebook friend and fellow Cult Movie Fan James suggested I look into Actress Melissa Moore’s career, and I’m glad I did!
My “2021 Sex Kitten Countdown” was created to profile some of the great Cult Actresses of the past and present – many had great runs in cult cinema, but aren’t given the respect due – so let’s dive into the deep end of Melissa cult film career!
Melissa Moore was born on December 27, 1963 in Versailles, Kentucky,
She grew up in that state before moving to Long Beach California to attend college, where she was a valedictorian!
The entertainment business, however, had other plans for her!
She got her start in the great cult gem “Evil Spawn”, credited as Monika Roarke.
Bobbie Bresee starred in the film, and what a career she had – see her greatest hits here:
As for Moore, she amassed a nice collection of credit under her own name, like these:
Yes, it’s a comedic takeoff on “Th eExorcist” starring Linda Blair and Leslie Nielsen – and Melissa plays a character called “bimbo student!”
As you can see from this image, she played the part very well!
As for Linda Blair, she starred in some wild wild cult films in the 80’s:
Oh yeah – she also posed for some wild wild photos as well!
You can see them here:
Melissa was now on a terrific, cult film tear – let’s look at some of the best!
“Sorority House Massacre II” is a great title – and just the kind of film that was hugely popular as the 80’s ended.
You want the plot? Just watch the trailer, which lays it out perfectly:
“Sorority House Massacre II” is a great example of 80’s slasher mayhem – plenty of blood, terror and of course, showers…
She also appeared in “Vice Academy Part 2” – the second in what became a nice run of cult hits:
Elizabeth Kaitan also appeared in that series, plus many more great cult films!

She also starred in the erotic action thriller “Hard To Die” – and as was the style of this kind of film, there was always time for a shower:
“Samurai Cop” was another auctioneer from that era – check out this vintage trailer!
Melissa was uninhibited in all of her films – it was the way these films resonated at that time, and she appeared in dozens of cult films!
My Facebook friend Joe shared this film of hers as well:
This 1993 film gave Melissa a chance to kick some ass! An assassination in the Philippines is caught on film by kickboxer Christy, which leads to her death. Her sister Kat – played by real life kickboxer Kat Sassoon – a Los Angeles police officer, comes to Manila to try and bring justice to the people responsible.
Check out the trailer:
Yes, the film was packed with lots of gratuitous nudity – and of course, showers!
Melissa was the cover of a magazine called Focus:
She also had a comic book (“Melissa Moore, Bodyguard”) based on her. she was also in this erotic thriller:
In this 1995 erotic thriller, six people are haunted by the spirit of a demented slave master with an insatiable erotic appetite, as they stay trapped inside a haunted mansion by a thunderstorm!
Check out the terrific trailer!
Two Facebook friends told me to find this film and watch it – and I am going to do just that!
Kathleen Kinmont also starred in the film:
Kinmont had a terrific film career as well, and you can see the highlights here:
Moore has acted in more than 35 films, and is still active in the business!
The 80’s and 90’s saw many “kick ass” empowered women get a chance to shine, like Roberta Vasquez:
She had a great string of Andy Sidaris films and you can see them all here:
