Celebrating The Short But Sweet Career Of Marie Ekorre!
One of the most interesting aspects of discovering some classic cult cinema is coming across a Cult Movie Queen I didn’t know – even though she has appeared in some of the most notorious films of the 70’s!
Marie Ekorre had a big impact on European softcore sex films in the 70’s before disappearing…all I know about her personal life is that she was born on December 11, 1952 in Ludvika, Sweden.
She didn’t make many films, but since all of Europe’s most provocative films were released with even more enticing titles in the US, she is on a lot of movie posters!
Ekorre had a dozen films credits in the 70’s, beginning in Sweden with a sexploitation film called “Lockfageln”:
Here’s her credit in this 1971 movie:
“Naked Woman at Ulla Winbladhs”
OK then! And that she was!
I found this poster that is clearly meant to be titillating – but it’s not an American film, so it’s hard to know if it’s just the US release of her debut or not!
It was so common in the early 70’s to take European films and give them more enticing titles for the US market – which led her to appear in a film with two other huge 70’s stars:
Marie had uncredited roles in film like “Secrets Of Sweet Sixteen” – well, that is until a savvy home video Distributor knew how to promote her and the film’s other two stars:
Yes, “Secrets Off Sweet Sixteen” was just a more spacious title for one of Germany’s notorious “Schoolgirl Reports” – in this case, #6!
These films offered stories of what “schoolgirls” were doing that would terrify their parents – stuff like this:

Marie was clearly out exploring nature with her boyfriend – each film was simply a series of erotic vignettes – and this one starred the legendary Christina Lindberg:
Lindberg was the “Queen Of Artsploitation” – and her most notorious film was also released with three different titles!

She made a number of wild German sex films before a tragic end…see her story here:
As for Marie Ekorre, she appeared in several more films, all released with multiples titles like this:
As you can see, the films were classic slices of “euro-sleaze!”
“Campus Pussycats” promised so much, and for that time, it mostly delivered – and for a good reason – it was just one more title for the film we already discussed, “Schoolgirl Report 6!”
These films were filled with sex and showers…a very popular series from Germany that were retitled and released in multiple versions all around the world:
Marie also appeared in a film called “Love Bavarian Style” – the plot seems to write itself, doesn’t it?
“Around The World With Fanny Hill” in 1974 is another of her best known films.
Marie’s other claim to fame came when she was chosen as a Penthouse Pet of the Month in March 1974.
Ekorre was featured prominently in a number of other magazines as well, but little is shown about her life – and then she pops up on pestered like this:
I couldn’t find anything about this film, so I assume it’s just one of her Swedish sex comedies with a different title…

This Swedish film was renamed for the US market as well – but I can’t find anything out about it, certainly not anything to suggest it was a hardcore film as claimed in the poster art:
Still, Marie shows up in pictorials and movie posters, just nothing about her at all.
Her last film was the 1976 cult effort “Bathtime In Bangkok.” But I wondered: was it also released with this title?
Again, there is nothing online about a film called “Bath-House Girls”, so it could be a retitled version of any one of there European films:
After that, there are no additional credits for Marie – she was out of the entertainment industry.

She left us with a lot of magazine pictorials and racy films, but she dropped out of sight and there is nothing online about her!
Ekorre was one of a number of European sex kittens who showed up in these “Euro-Sleaze” films:
Marisa Feldy had a string of appearances in them and you can see her greatest hits here:
Angelika Baumgart also appeared in a number of these “reports!”
You can see all of her best work here:
There you have it: some of the most popular Actresses of 70’s European cinema!

Did some digging around and one site says Nøglehullet was released in the U.S. as The Keyhole and then re-released in 1977 as My Teenage Daughter. Interesting how they credit Ekorre as the star even though she only had a supporting role. Maybe because she was a Penthouse Pet? The film is also listed with different directors on various sites and posters; all American sounding names.

Thanks for this…the naming and renaming make it hard to confirm which is which, so thanks for this!

We need more movies with several girls taking showers together like we used to see in the 70s and 80s. 😊

Well, it was a time when that was the shocking footage that drew you into a theater…not many of those being made any more which is a shame because they are usually very goofy fun!
