Look Who’s On The Cover Of Playboy!
As part of my “2022 Sex Kitten Countdown”, I’ve been profiling well known and lesser-known Actresses who had their moment in the spotlight.
Some names just resonate, even years later, and Patti McGuire is one of those!
Patti McGuire was born in Dexter, Missouri. Patti grew up in St. Louis with her younger brother and two younger sisters. She was her high school’s Homecoming Queen.
McGuire studied history and political science at Southern Illinois University. She worked as a Bunny at the Playboy Club in St. Louis as well as appeared in local television and print advertisements.
Of course, working at the Playboy Club got her noticed:
As is the case with many of the young women who work there, she was “discovered” and next thing you know, she’s on the cover of the magazine!
Patti was the Playmate of the Month in the November, 1976 issue of the magazine – and deservedly so!
That was just the beginning, the following year, McGuire was named Playmate of the Year in 1977 – an award presented to her by Rocker Alice Cooper!
She had the attention of the world – and many others who have gotten that honor have used it to go into film and TV, but surprisingly, Patti only had one acting credit, on the TV series “Starsky & Hutch” in 1977.
Why did Patti stop acting? There’s nothing online that explains – well, except this:
Was it because Patti married professional tennis player Jimmy Connors in 1979?
I haven’t found any information to explain her dropping out of the entertainment business, but their marriage quickly led to her having two children.
McGuire appeared in a number of Playboy videos, but it seems that once she got married and started a family, she dropped out of the spotlight completely.
Here’s another unique claim to fame: McGuire is featured on the back glass of the famous “Playboy” pinball machine which was released at the end of 1978; she’s the brunette on the left of Hugh Hefner!
According to online biographies, she and Connor now live in Santa Barbara California.
Patti’s one of the many Playmates I’ve profiled who had huge success in the magazine, but didn’t parlay it into a career in entertainment.
Candy Loving was Playboy’s 25th Anniversary Playmate, but she disappeared soon after!

I also shared the story of a Playmate who took part in a “Slumber Party Massacre!”
Kimberly McArthur had a short career in film before she dropped out of sight as well – click here for more of her story:
Many went on, however, to great careers in cult cinema – just check out the films of Roberta Vasquez:
She became a regular in some kick ass 80’s and 90’s action films -see them all here:
