Celebrating Iconic Actress Patti D’Arbanville!
One of the great things about cult cinema from the 70’s and 80’s is that many acclaimed Actresses also made erotic thrillers and erotic dramas as well…they acted across a wide spectrum of film!
My “2022 Sex Kitten Countdown” celebrates the career of Patti D’Arbanville – she has been in great films from the past 40 years, and some wildly acclaimed TV shows as well!
Patti was born in 1951 in New York City.
When she was 17 years old, her Mother agreed to led her do a nude scene in the Andy Warhol film “Flesh” in 1968.

She has more than 70 film credits and is still working today – let’s look at some of her great cult gems:
“Rancho Deluxe”
Patti had an outdoor sex scene with Jeff Bridges in this 1975 cult film, which you can find now on streaming services and blu[ray as well:

Oh, and let’s not forget she appeared in Playboy as well:

Patti ended up doing a pictorial in the magazine that captured all of her innocence and natural beaut!
D’Arbanville acted in all kind of TV shows and films, mostly mainstream projects – but she did venture to Europe to star in one of the the decade’s most sensual movies – forgotten to time a bit, but now getting a Blu-Ray re-release:

“Bilitis”
This 1977 film was one of the earlier attempts at erotic filmmaking for a mainstream audience.
the film is a coming of age story centering on the exploits of a young girl during summer vacation.
One of the writers was Catherine Breillat, who went on to direct such acclaimed erotic films as “Fat Girl” and “Romance.”

The film was released right after “Emmanuelle” was a worldwide smash hit.
Sylvia Kristel became a worldwide star based on her role in the film – click here for more on her career:
As for D’Arbanville, she moved back into mainstream film and TV.
She is the subject of the song “Lady D’Arbanville” by Cat Stevens on his album “Mona Bone Jakon”.
Patti also had a son with Don Johnson.
She transitioned into mainstream roles on film and TV – huge box office hits like “The Main Event” and “Time After Time”, as well as the cult surfing movie “Big Wednesday.”

As I said, she still works today in film and TV and was in such acclaimed shows as “The Sopranos” and the recent hit “Billions”.
15 years after first appearing, Patti did another interview with Playboy as well!
Bravo to D’Arbanville for a terrific career, which reminded me of another empowered Actress:
Helen Mirren is an Oscar-winning Actress who made many provocative films in her illustrious career – click to see them all:
Here’s another Actress who made bold choices:
Barbara Hershey posed for Playboy to promote her Martin Scorsese film – wow!

Sissy Spacek is also an Oscar winning Actress, but her first film was an eye-opener for a different reason:

She got her start in the gritty action film “Prime Cut” – you can see more of her revealing debut here:
More recently, Actress Elizabeth Berkley took on a very provocative role in one of the wildest films of all time:

Oh and as for that 1974 Playboy pictorial Patti did, guess who else was in the issue?

She was once Cat Stevens’ girlfriend. When they slpit up, he wrote a song about her.
‘Bilitis’ was a very popular film here. I used to have a copy on VHS.
Best wishes, Pete.

I make a reference to the song in the story but didn’t include it as I didn’t really know it. Thanks for sharing that!

Sounds like she’d be a great interview. Loved her on her arc on Stephen J. Cannell’s show Wiseguy.
