Celebrating Cult Movie Queen Julian Wells!

Thanks to a great tip, I took a deep dive into the career of a great Cult Movie Queen – Julian Wells!

My “2022 Sex Kitten Countdown” looks for empowered Actresses from all eras of cult cinema – and Julian had her great run as home video catapulted many Actresses to stardom!

Julian was born Susan Katherine McCoppin on June 20 in San Francisco, California and grew up in the suburb of Birmingham in Detroit, Michigan.

Woodyanders at IMDB.com has a great mini-bio, including some of these great facts:

Wells started modeling and acting when she was a child. A classically trained actress, Julian studied drama at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and had a starring role in the long-running hit Off-Broadway play “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding.”

Wells had a great modeling career as well as more than 45 acting credits – let’s dive in to some of her greatest cult performances!

Julian got her first film role in 2001 in the low-budget Seduction Cinema film “Witchbabe: The Erotic Witch Project 3” – according to IMDB, she was a last minute fill-in for another actress who failed to show up the day the scene was shot!

This began a great run of direct-to-video films alongside a number of other great Actresses of that era.

One of the films recommended to me was “Dr. Jeckyll & Mistress Hyde” in 2003.

In an erotic take on the classic, this Doctor is trying to create a serum that brings out a woman’s most erotic desires.

That’s Mistry Mundae on the left – she is also an iconic Cult Movie Queen as well!

As you will see, Wells appeared in a number of erotic horror films. Here are more of her cult gems:

And what about this title?

“Who Wants To Be An Erotic Billionaire” is an obvious spoof of that FOX TV series from years back, b ut perhaps it would have done better had they done it this way!

“Naked And Betrayed” is another erotic thriller that Wells starred in, and I love the title of this one:

“Spider Babe” also starred Misty Mundae – check out the trailer:

This is their take on the “Spiderman” legend, except in this case it’s a girl who is bitten and her erotic powers are dramatically increased as well!

Wells and Misty made a number of films together as you can see by these posters…

In this 2004 film, Misty plays an 18-year old girl who visits her relative and has a sexual awakening thanks to Aunt Inga, played by Wells.

Julian also appeared with Misty in this 2007 film, which looked at the rough world of entertainment for young Actresses seeking stardom.

Along with these cult films, Julian also appeared in small roles on “The Sopranos” and “Entourage” before retiring from the acting in 2008.

But she turned to another lucrative career!

Wells went back to her birth name Suzy McCoppin and became a celebrity reporter for “Life & Style” and “In Touch,” among many others.
