The Wild Life Of Actress Marisa Mell! Her “Perversion Story” And More Classic Cult Films!

Celebrating A Neglected Cult Movie Queen!

One of my goals for the “2022 Sex Kitten Countdown” is to discover Cult Movie Queens who have been “forgotten to time” a bit – and highlight some of their greatest work!

That is certainly the case for Cult Movie Queen Marisa Mell – who worked with some of the great cult film Directors but few of her films were widely released in the US!

Let’s take a look:

She was born Marlies Theres Moitzi in 1939 in Austria.

When she was 24 years old, she was in a serious traffic accident that almost killed her.

Her IMDB.com page is filled with great trivia like this:

In 1964 she refused to sign a contract in Hollywood running for seven years. She said that the payment would have been great, but that “the contract was a whole book. I think that even to go to the toilet I would have needed a permission.”

So while she rejected mainstream Hollywood, she had more than 60 film credits, mostly in Italy – and she worked for some of the greatest Directors from that country as well – here’s a look!

Mell’s most famous role was in this 1968 spy thriller, directed by the legendary Mario Bava!

Check out the trailer:

Mell proved early on that she was up for anything – and she became a star with revealing roles for some of that era’s great cult Directors!

“One On Top Of The Other” AKA “Perversion Story”!

Legendary Director Lucio Fulci made this provocative thriller, and Mell bared all for the role.

AS IMDB.com describes the plot:

An unscrupulous doctor is accused of killing his asthmatic wife as part of an insurance scam, despite discovering that she has a doppelgänger who works as a stripper and call girl.

Check out the trailer:

“Marta” in 1971 again utilized Marisa’s beauty as a selling tool – and she then went on to work with the legendary Director Umberto Lenzi:

“Seven Blood-Stained Orchids” in 1972 was directed by Umberto Lenzi, who also directed “Cannibal Ferox” and “Eaten Alive!”

Here’s how IMDB.com describes the film:

A woman, a survivor of a failed murder attempt by a person dubbed “The Half-Moon Killer” by the police, and her husband must find the connecting thread between herself, six other women, and the killer before the killer strikes at her again.

Check out the trailer:

Mell also bared all for Playboy magazine:

She ended up being a very popular Model for men’s magazines in Italy:

The Actress worked with a lot of well known Actors as well, even if the films weren’t released in the US:

Maria’s Real-Life Misadventures!

Along with her onscreen adventures, the Actress had a wild off-screen life as well.

Her boyfriend in the early 70’s was Pier Luigi Torri, a nightclub owning party animal.

According to wikipedia:

In 1971, he got into a series of legal difficulties over cocaine being supplied to his nightclub’s clients, and fled the country on his yacht. After being arrested in London over a $300 million gold mine and bank scam, and in an ironic echo of Danger: Diabolik, Torri got out the cell, made a daring and acrobatic rooftop escape, and evaded a huge search by infuriated English police; he eventually was recaptured in America after 18 months at large!

Marisa continued to act and pose for provocative pictorials, interesting when you see how she felt about herself.

In 1986, she had this to say about her looks:

“I was never proud of my beauty, I was rather bothered by it. It was a tragedy. Every man wanted me, but no man wanted to keep me.”

Sadly, Marisa died in 1992 at the age of 53 from cancer…she was one of many Actresses I’ve profiled who had success in Italian films:

Stefania Casini had a terrific career and a wild sex scene with Robert DeNiro – click here to see the film:

One of my all-time favorite Cult Movie Queens is Italian beauty Debora Caprioglio:

She had a provocative career and you can see it all here:

And let’s not forget the timely beauty of Silvia Dionisio:

She had a great cult film career and you can see the highlights here:

One more Italian beauty to share:

What a career Laura Antonelli had – and you can her highlights here:
