Celebrating “Shocktober 2022” With Horror Movie Queen Erika Blanc!
Italian Actress Erika Blanc starred in a number of great Euro-sleaze horror films of the 70’s…movies with great titles and filled with classic dread and gloom!
To celebrate “Shocktober 2022”, we are going to look at her best horror work – in the nude!
Blanc starred win some terrific European horror films, and I want to focus on three of them here – let’s begin with some “Full Moon Virgins!”
The 1973 film “The Devil’s Wedding Night,” has a great title, but it wasn’t the only one: it was also AKA “Full Moon Of The Virgins”!
In a plot that sounds VERY much like “Countess Dracula”, Lady Dracula uses Dracula’s ring to lure beautiful girls to her castle, where she murders them so she can bathe in their blood.
There is a style and tone to early 70’s Euro-horror, which you will see here in the trailer:
I love the gothic, Eastern European feel to these films, set in the past when everyone feared Vampires, Werewolves and more – and women liked to bathe in blood!
This film starred another of our “Shocktober 2022” Cult Movie Queens as well!

Next up for Erika was a film with a poster that cried out:
“The Worms Are Waiting!”
“The Night Evelyn Came out of the Grave”
That is a GREAT poster, my horror friends! This 1971 shocker is the story of a wealthy pervert who lures beautiful young women to his castle so he can have his way with them.

While not a great film, it’s fun to watch and is, once again, a great example of the gritty, somber European horror film of the early 70’s…and obviously the camera loves Erika:
These films look inexpensive, some online have said “cheap”, but to me that’s part of the charm…they are gritty, slightly grimy little horror films that are a blast to watch. As for Blanc, here next step was to appear in a very popular men’s magazine:
Erika appeared in the Italian Playboy with photos that are not only sexy but empowered.
One more great “Shocktober” film with Erika to share:
“The Devil’s Nightmare!”
In this 1971 film, Erika comes to stay at a castle with other guests, then proceeds to seduce and kill them, using their own sins against them.

I haven’t seen this, but if I come across it, I’ll give it a shot, because Erika has a commanding screen presence…and during Halloween season, her films are even more fun to watch!
As you can see, she was one of Italy’s most popular sex kittens…and had a run of films across many different genres as well…a true “Cult Movie Queen”!
These European horror films that take place in dark castles and earlier times are fascinating to me, and here’s another great Cult Movie Queen who also loved to bathe in blood:

The Devil’s Wedding night and the devil’s nightmare are primo Euro 70’s goodness. The night Evelyn Came Out Of The grave is pretty good also. I should know. I have all 3 on blu ray.

The most stomach-turning thing about “The Devil’s Nightmare” is the close-ups of the gluttonous bus driver eating… and this film where someone gets killed in an iron maiden!
